Brake Replacement
Keep Your Brake System Performing Properly
Garfield and Canal offers full service brake system, pads, rotor replacement. To determine whether you need new brakes or not, you’ll need to look and listen. You can check for wear by looking at your brake pads through the spaces between the wheel’s spokes. There should be at least ¼ inch of pad pressed against a metal rotor. If you see less than ¼ inch of pad, you should bring the car into us to look at it.
Another way to check on your brakes is to listen. If you hear a high pitch screeching sound when you apply the brakes, that is a warning that you should bring your car in because you need new brakes.
Once you bring the car into our shop, we will assess your brake system and determine if there is an issue. We service all variables in the brake family including: pads, rotors drums and shoes. Calipers and hoses can be inspected and replaced as needed. ABS, Anti-lock braking systems as well as wheel bearings are items we can service as well. Contact us to learn more.
